Youth Services

CCMA acknowledges the power of young individuals to foster positive change. The association actively promotes and supports initiatives led by youth that enhance cross-cultural understanding. Our Youth Engagement and SWIS (Settlement Worker In Schools) Workers work across Charlotte County, developing diverse programming and activities to help newcomer youth develop new and existing skills, make new friends, thrive in school and feel connected to their communities.

Our Youth/SWIS department works with registered CCMA clients aged 0-30.

Settlement Worker In Schools (SWIS)

A Settlement Worker In Schools is a professional who assists newcomers and their families in settling into their schools and communities. SWIS workers offer services such as information on school and community resources, orientation workshops, and referrals to additional services.

School Orientation & Resources

Meet with our team to learn more about what the school system looks like here in New Brunswick and how to navigate with confidence. Additionally, you will learn about programming offered by our team to help students adjust and get involved in their school communities such as our Multicultural and Homework clubs.

One-on-one Information Sessions

Youth are able to meet anytime with our team for one-on-one sessions. These sessions can be used for anything they would like to discuss, such as requesting additional support in school, looking for employment, post secondary opportunities, or inquiring about community resources

Group Workshops & Information Sessions

Throughout the year, our team offers a variety of workshops and information sessions specifically designed for youth. Topics vary from summer employment, post secondary and scholarship opportunities, and many more.

All workshops and information sessions are free for registered clients aged 0-30.

See our Activities & Events page for upcoming workshops and information sessions!
