Community engagement is at the heart of what we do at CCMA. We believe in fostering strong relationships and open communication with our community members. By actively listening to their needs and involving them in our initiatives, we create a collaborative environment that drives positive change. Volunteering with CCMA
CCMA greatly depends on its volunteers to effectively assist newcomers in settling into Charlotte. Volunteers contribute in various, from helping at CCMA events an ad-hoc to engaging in long commitments by working individually with newcomers. They also provide support the CCMA office as needed.
Those in one-on-one work with newcomers must first apply to volunteer with CCMA, complete a screening process, obtain a clean Vulnerable Sector Police Check, and undergo cross-cultural training. After this, volunteers are appropriately matched with newcomers.

Cross Cultural Training
Cross-cultural training is designed for businesses, community groups, and schools to enhance of cultural interactions. It specifically addresses the challenges newcomers encounter upon arrival and how employers, community groups, and neighbors can assist them. The aim is to help newcomers navigate cultural shock while also educating locals about the difficulties newcomers face in settling into Charlotte County and how they can offer support.
Targeted Matching Program
The Targeted Program connects newcomers with a local community volunteer well-established in the. Its goal is to facilitate the integration of new, assisting them in to life in Charlotte and building connections. program enables newcomers to insights into local culture and customs while enhancing their skills.
